July 2008

A Report from the Board

Welcome to the July issue.

Another membership year has passed and AGDF would like to thank you for your ongoing support of the AGDF network and continued participation of AGDF activities. As in previous years we have conducted events, tours, workshops and networking functions such as the monthly GreenSpeed breakfast. We continue to act as an information hub, directing members to activities and information to increase their knowledge base.

The Australian Green Development Forum has the vision of sustainable urban communities across Australia. To achieve such a vision, we must inspire, promote and accelerate the understanding of sustainability. Sustainability is now a concept almost everyone accepts. This is only the beginning. Together we must further develop sustainable practices, guidelines, policies and technologies in the Australian building and development industry. This challenge is formidable but our collective future business growth depends on it.

We will continue providing our members with knowledge. If our membership has the knowledge of ‘what to do’ and ‘why to do it’ our combined ability to achieve sustainable change is greatly increased and we welcome your continued commitment in this endeavour.

If you have the desire to make positive change, please come to our events and functions and meet others who share your willingness to contribute to change. A collective voice for change will be heard louder and create the environment for change faster. I look forward to your support in accelerating sustainable development.

We’re pleased to let you know that due to changes in membership structure, corporate membership now extends to all offices within Australia. With nationwide involvement, together we can realise sustainable urban communities across Australia.

We encourage you to also look on our website – agdf.org.au/join.asp - for more positive and exciting changes for AGDF membership.

We look forward to your support in accelerating sustainable development.
