Welcomes and Goodbyes for the AGDF Board
AGDF would like to welcome newly appointed AGDF Board Director Cr Peter Matic who represents invited member, Brisbane City Council (BCC) and is replacing Cr Helen Abrahams on the AGDF Board.
Helen Abrahams served as an AGDF Board Director for a number of years and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Helen for her dedication and commitment to AGDF, its members and its vision.
Below is some information regarding Peter:
Peter Matic is the Councillor for Toowong Ward. He is Chairman of the Environment, Parks and Sustainability Committee that aims to protect and enhance Brisbane's environment including the Brisbane River, waterways, biodiversity, air quality and natural areas and;
• ensure Brisbane is a leading city in energy efficiency and integrated water management
• foster Brisbane's development as a green and shady city with a focus on its parks and gardens and natural areas
• partner with the community and business to enhance the environment
• support volunteer organisations in their contribution to the protection and enhancement of Brisbane's environment
• ensure environmental risks are minimised
Peter is committed to maintaining and enhancing the biodiversity of our city and implementing the Green Heart CitySmart program to work with and encourage the people of Brisbane to reduce our carbon emissions and protect the environment.
